Eco-construction

Green building

Bioedilizia MALVIN S.r.l.
For years MALVIN pays particular attention to the environmental sustainability of its production in order to reduce the environmental impact connected to the construction and protection of the territory and the environment.
This attention translates with adaptation to the UNI EN ISO 14021, for the production of eco-sustainable products that guarantee the minimum environmental impact and the maximum mental and physical well-being of man, and reducing or eliminating the sources of pollution in the production phase and end of life of the products.
This attention is expressed in the analysis of the life cycle of all its products starting from:
  • pre-production, ie the use of natural raw materials, as close as possible to production plants and compliant with European standards;
  • production, management of the transformation and assembly process, aimed at reducing the environmental impact with the use of energy from own renewable sources, therefore, with the emission of CO2 zero, and the reduction of all emissions in air, water and noise emissions; reduction, reuse and differentiated treatment of the residues of the production process and an environmental management system as specified by the standard ISO 14001: 2004.
  • Useful life of the material in terms of extended life span, aiming at the improved durability of the products with reduction of the environmental impact due to the service activity over time, directed to the maintenance, repair, conservation and reconstruction; create products that do not release substances dangerous for the health of those who live and work in built environments;
  • end of life of the products in terms of total recyclability with subtraction of the waste stream, treatment and return to use in the form of raw material; in fact the products of our production are all recyclable as inert.
  • To further confirm the mission, the MALVIN, supports the protection of the environment both inside, with the correct management of production processes, and outside with the design of environmentally friendly products in respect of the nature of the components and their life cycle.
Thanks to this project MALVIN meets the requirements for the ANAB-ICEA certificationofProducts for bio building and in 2016 gets the title according to the standardsUNI EN ISO 14024, type I environmental labeling,at the end of a process that includes the following steps:

1. INITIAL EVALUATION OF PRODUCTS AND EXECUTION OF TESTS
At this stage it is verified that each product for which certification is required:
  • functionally responds to the declared use
  • does not contain substances dangerous to humans and the environment;
  • is mainly obtained from easily renewable raw materials and secondary materials;
  • is optimized from an environmental point of view throughout the life cycle;
  • The tests are conducted by qualified laboratories and selected by ICEA based on their specialization and professionalism.

2. EVALUATION OF THE LIFE CYCLE OF THE PRODUCT
The Evaluation of the Life Cycle of the Bio-building product aims to:
  • Define the environmental profile of the product;
  • Identifythe most critical areaswithin the life cycle;
  • Identifypotential improvement potentials(reduction of the consumption of resources, of the emissions in air and water, of the production of waste);
  • Provide abenchmarkingwith similar and alternative products, whenever possible.
  • Applying the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology according to ISO 14040 standards, the environmental profile of the product is drawn up through which the flows of matter and energy identified throughout the life cycle of the product are ordered, classified and aggregated into different categories of environmental impact, also called aggregated impact indicators.

3. INSPECTIVE CHECK AT THE SITE
The audit at the production plant is aimed at ascertaining the correct management of manufacturing processes, as well as evaluating the efficiency of processes and practices that may have an impact on the environment or on the health and safety of workers.

PRODUCING BIO CONSTRUCTION IS CONCRETED IN COMPLIANCE WITH CERTAIN STANDARDS

ANAB ICEA Emissioni CO2 Zero
LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION
Intended as a reduction of the energy requirements necessary for the process which result in a reduction in the emission of CO2 in the atmosphere, guaranteed by MALVIN with the use of energy coming from own renewable sources and from the network, therefore, with emission of CO2 zero.

AIR AND WATER EMISSION - EXTERNAL NOISE
It is since 2003 that the MALVIN, with the adoption of the Environmental Management System ISO 14001: 2004 it conducts a constant monitoring and environmental monitoring activity that allows to monitor and measure the company's impact on the environment and to fully comply with the authorization limits in accordance with current legislation.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
With the differentiated treatment of waste and the recycling of all residual products deriving from the process, managed with the Environmental Management
System ISO 14001: 2004.

EMISSION VOC
Limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds in order to prevent atmospheric pollution, to guarantee the healthiness of the environments
internal and user health. In particular, the opportune choice of raw materials allowed to reduce the values of VOC for the
products at values lower than 50% of the maximum limits allowed by the legislation and even for some products guarantee their absence a
guarantee of human health.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BINDERS
Use of natural binders:
  • Aerial lime complying with the UNI EN 459-1: 2001 standard and with SO3 sulphate content <0.5%;
  • Natural hydraulic lime (NHL):
  • with SO3 sulphate content <0.5%
  • it must not contain C3S and C3A
  • cooking temperature <900 ° C
  • Plaster coming from natural quarry;
  • Cement to be used only in white.

AGGREGATES
Permitted aggregates:
  • natural sands coming from lakes, rivers or quarries;
  • sands deriving exclusively from the grinding of natural rocks;
  • crushed rocks.

ADDITIVES
Natural substances and their compounds or preparations are used, without the use of petrochemicals.

COMPLIANCE WITH COMMUNITY DIRECTIVES
The products comply with national and EU regulations.

VAPOR PERMEABILITY
To guarantee the healthiness of the environments, international standards have established a value of μ <20.

RADIOACTIVITY
The finished product must have an activity index, intended as an exemption value, I <1.

HEAVY METALS
The finished products must have a maximum content lower than the limits established by law.
